A 25-year-old Islamist was arrested in La Crouse, eastern France, after beheading and destroying a 1.5-meter statue of Saint Joseph inside the historic Saint-Henri Catholic Church.
He then picked up the severed head and displayed it on the church pew before leaving the building.
Outside he started harassing some people, including young people who called the police.
The police arrested the suspect and ordered him to be transferred to a special psychiatric hospital.
