A 39-year-old Iraqi citizen, suspected of fighting for ISIS, making booby traps and teaching children at a school run by ISIS, has been allowed to claim asylum in the UK and live in a taxpayer-funded hotel despite entering the country under a false identity.
Leith Ibrahim Mohammed crossed the English Channel from France aboard a small boat in August 2025, providing British immigration officials with a false name.
He was then put up in a Home Office-funded hotel in Oldham, Greater Manchester, where he stayed for almost two months.
He was arrested by National Crime Agency officers at the hotel in October 2025 after German authorities uncovered his terrorist links.
Mohammed is now fighting extradition to Germany, where he faces terrorism and rape charges.
