Mohammed Ahmed Abdulkarim and Noman Asgir were charged with national security offenses over the incident at RAF Fairford in September, with one of them suspected of aiding the Iranian intelligence service. Muhammad Ahmed Abdulkarim, 24, is accused of assisting a foreign intelligence service. Counter-terrorism police said they believe the foreign country involved is Iran. Noman Asgir, also 24 years old, is accused of entering a prohibited place for the purpose of harming the safety or interests of the United Kingdom. Three suspicious pickup trucks were seen near the US-operated air base on September 27. No explosives were found, but a quantity of gasoline was seized. A large fence remained around the base for several days. A 25-year-old British-Iranian who was re-arrested on suspicion of assisting a foreign intelligence service has been released without charge.
