A 26-year-old Moroccan immigrant was arrested for sexually assaulting a 22-year-old Spanish woman and injuring another person inside a protest camp in Puerta del Sol in Madrid.
The police say that he entered the victim's tent and attacked her. When other campers confronted him, he attacked some of them as well.
After the incident, protesters who occupied the square for nearly a month against the background of the housing crisis in Spain began to dismantle the tents and clean the square.
Some early protesters reduced their presence, while others, including homeless people, used the camp for temporary shelter.
