Foreign-born people accounted for 60% of new HIV diagnoses in England in 2024. Among newly diagnosed foreign-born people arriving in England in 2023, 77% were African-born.
New diagnoses among black African heterosexuals increased from 290 in 2020 to 683 in 2024, a 136% increase.
