Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar banned UK Green Party leader Zak Polanski from entering Israel after his party adopted a motion declaring that Zionism should be treated like any other form of racism.

The proposal, passed 1,022-813 at the party conference in Brighton, also declares the Greens an "anti-Israeli party" and supports the establishment of a single Palestinian state to replace Israel.

Israel's Foreign Ministry stated that Sa'ar coordinated the decision with the relevant authorities and defined Polanski's ban as a "first step", and accused the Greens of adopting a policy that legitimizes the destruction of the State of Israel.
