An Israeli man living in the Netherlands, identified only as Y, was rejected from a Dutch course after the teacher questioned him during his entrance interview about the Gaza war and said he only wanted to work with students who agreed that "Palestinian genocide" was taking place.

The teacher told J. that he should check if they agree on the subject and if Y. strongly opposes the actions of the Israeli government before continuing.

Y., whose uncle was killed during the attacks on October 7, replied that the situation is complex and said: "I don't agree with the word genocide."

Y. said alleged war crimes should be investigated and all those responsible should be prosecuted and imprisoned, but refused to accept the genocide as an established fact.

The teacher replied that he wanted "only students who oppose genocide", insisted that genocide is a fact and told me that he was "in denial".

When J. Said he wanted the claim to be investigated and not simply accepted, the teacher told him he didn't like his position and wished him luck at another school.
