Flash: The Congolese immigrant who beat the off-duty Swedish police officer Christian Zadig to death in the World Cup fan zone in Copenhagen has been sentenced to one year.

The judge also banned Nkumba Zimba from going to bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other places where alcohol is served after midnight for a year after his release from prison.

The Congolese immigrant is a repeat offender previously convicted of raping a woman, stabbing a man right through the heart in a nightclub and several random assaults in public.

The short sentence has sparked outrage in Denmark and people are now calling for the "simple violence" law to be amended so that longer sentences can be given.
