A large fire broke out in an 18th-century mansion in St. Petersburg
The historic building opposite St. Isaac's Cathedral caught fire late at night. The fire was extinguished during the night, but the rescue forces are still on the scene.
Photos show that the interior is almost completely burned. Part of the roof collapsed.
The Miller Estate is a regional cultural heritage site. It was built in the second half of the 18th century and rebuilt in the 70s of the 18th century according to the design of the architect Franz-Ferdinand Miller. His brother Carl Miller owned it, and the building was named after him.
Before the fire, the mansion was prepared for restoration.
