At least 15 more Christians were killed in a new wave of attacks in Plateau State, Nigeria, days after previous attacks in the same area killed a Baptist pastor and other Christians.

Local lawyer and community leader Solomon Muntiri identified the attackers as Islamist Fulani militias.

Nigerian civil rights organization Intersociety said in early September that 3,083 Christians were killed and 3,193 abducted across Nigeria between January and August 2026.
