A Tu-95 strategic missile carrier crashed in the Amur region. Six people were killed.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that went down on Tuesday. Six died. One crew member was hospitalized. The plane crashed in an uninhabited area during a training flight with no ammunition on board.

The media in the Kremlin claim that there was a fuel explosion and that the engines caught fire when they crashed. It is not confirmed.

By some counts, Russia may have lost at least 14 Tu-95s during the war in Ukraine.

The plane can carry nuclear weapons and has not been produced since 1992. Several of them were damaged or destroyed earlier by Ukrainian forces and special services.
