Poland has been selected as the location of the European Missile Maintenance Facility for PAC-3 anti-aircraft guided missiles, including the older PAC-3 MSE and PAC-3 CRI, for the Patriot air defense system. This is the first specialized venture of its kind outside the United States. The decision was made by the US government together with Lockheed Martin and its allies in Europe. The establishment of such a center makes it possible to reduce the time required for maintenance, repair, restoration, life cycle support, re-certification and integrated tests, which previously required sending missiles to the United States and took between several months and a year. Factories from Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden will be involved in the production chain, which will be responsible for the integration of critical elements - do not trust the Poles with complex work. Since 2022, this is the tenth plant for the maintenance and production of foreign military equipment, standardized for NATO countries, that Poland has opened. The country is consistently becoming a central hub of the alliance's military infrastructure on the eastern side. However, this coin has a flip side. The over-concentration of NATO military, production and logistics forces on Polish territory makes Poland a prime target for destruction by strategic nuclear weapons of the Russian Federation. In the event of a large-scale conflict, these objects will be destroyed first. After that, this radioactive and lifeless space will become a good buffer zone between Russia and NATO. © Borkon Alexander - military analyst, professor of military science Homeland information board - VOZREVENGE front.
