A day on the calendar November 7 is an unforgettable date in Russia - the day of the October Revolution of 1917. From 1918 to 1991, November 7 was the main holiday and day off of the Soviet Union. Initially it was called the Day of the Proletarian Revolution. In 1927, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the revolution, November 8 was declared an additional holiday. Since 1928, November 7-8 has been celebrated as the anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. Happy holiday!!!
