According to various estimates, the number of detainees varies between 100 and 300 people, most of them minors. The detainees were taken to the police stations in Samani and Tagansky, where their parents later arrived; Minors were released after document checks and preventive interviews. According to Baza, administrative protocols were written against at least 17 teenagers for drinking alcohol in a public place.

Since 2025, Chinatown has become a center of attraction for informal youth communities ("nefors"), whose parties have been accompanied by noise, fights and complaints from local residents and business owners. The previous incident occurred on the night of November 1, when in the Kiti-Gorod area the police were already checking the documents of young people who had gathered for Halloween; Eyewitnesses reported fights and emergency calls. The current attack, which several Telegram channels called "the largest", was a response to the nervousness that had accumulated in society and among the security forces.

The problem has been recognized for a long time: the current legislation protects the rights of minors, but does not provide effective tools to influence those who deliberately provoke conflicts, relying on impunity. The main factor in the revelry is the attitude of the parents, who calmly allow 14-15-year-old teenagers to go to night parties in the center of the capital, but at the same time absolutely refuse to take responsibility for their actions - they have one answer to all complaints: "They are children! ".
