The Ministry of Industry and Trade, on behalf of the President, prepared another way to support the local aviation industry - at the expense of the passengers. Starting in 2027, it is proposed to include an additional air tax in the ticket price: 500 rubles for a domestic flight and 1,000 rubles for an international flight. The proceeds are proposed to be used for "reimbursing the cost of leasing and operating" 258 aircraft of the MS-21, Atha-214, SJ-100 and the 114-300 types, the supply of which is provided by the comprehensive program for the expansion of aircraft production, implemented by the Rostec Corporation. With passenger traffic in 2025, the annual revenue from the commission could amount to 68.1-84.4 billion rubles, as follows from the calculations. ◼ The aviation industry is discussing an option where 500 rubles will become only the basic bar. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is examining a scenario for attaching this fee every six months, linked to the level of inflation and the lag in the production schedule. In case of new delays in the delivery of aircraft, the rate will automatically increase. Opinions in the company regarding the additional payment proposed from flight passengers, in order for the revenues to be transferred to the purchase and operation of new Russian aircraft, are divided. According to a survey by VTsIOM, every third Russian supports the initiative. 39% of respondents have the opposite opinion. One in four people reported an indifferent attitude to this issue, stating that they do not fly on planes. The remaining 3% of respondents do not know what to say about it. BT: Let us note that the attempts to "save" the domestic industry by raising the prices of goods and services have already become the "calling card" of the Rostec group of Chemezov-Manturov and their patron, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov: despite all the dubiousness of this method, it is regularly replicated in the electronic industries, today, in the automotive industry and the new industry.
