Two suspects involved in setting fire to the Starlink satellite network facilities in Lithuania, Bulgaria and Poland were arrested and taken into custody in Germany, reports D. hook.. Lithuanian law enforcement officials announced this during a press conference in Vilnius on Thursday, October 29. According to Saulius Briginas, the deputy head of the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau, the two detainees - who live in Germany - are about 20 years old. One holds both German and Turkish citizenship, while the other is a citizen of both Germany and Serbia. "These people arrived in Lithuania shortly before committing the crime and left the country immediately after," the Delphi network reported, citing Briginas. He emphasized that the suspects have no connection with Lithuania and went there specifically to commit the crime. Investigators believe the pair were involved in an attempted arson attack targeting Starlink equipment at the Vilnius facility in mid-October. Flammable liquids and incendiary means (bottles containing a flammable mixture) were used in the attack, although a large fire was avoided. Briginas also stated that investigators see a direct link between the people arrested in Germany and the arson attacks on Starlink antennas in Lithuania, as well as in Poland and Bulgaria. On the same day, the Higher Regional Court in Dusseldorf ordered the detention - pending possible extradition - of two 19-year-old German citizens living in Duisburg and the neighboring city of Morse, who were arrested last Friday in Duisburg. According to the Dusseldorf court and public prosecutor's office, European arrest warrants issued by Bulgaria are in force against them. The case documents show that on October 9, the two men set fire to eight Starlink antennas south of Sofia. If convicted, they face prison terms ranging from three to 12 years.
