We can all use good news. A camera trap in Zakarpattia captured a female brown bear with three cubs. The brown bear is the largest carnivorous mammal in Ukraine and is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Such observations help scientists and forestry experts monitor bear populations without disturbing the animals in their natural habitat. Thanks to conservation measures, hunting bans and preservation of natural habitats, the bear population is gradually stabilizing. According to estimates, 300-350 bears currently live in the Ukrainian Carpathians.: Ministry of Carpathian Forestry / Facebook.
