The publishing house KSD revealed the state of its warehouse after a Russian attack on October 27. The facility held 300,000 books, but it is not yet known how many can be saved. Fires broke out on the spot and were extinguished by the emergency forces. However, even books spared from the flames and water may have been damaged by the thick smoke that spread through the warehouse. In recent months, Russia has been systematically targeting the warehouses of Ukrainian publishing houses. Only at the beginning of September, Russian attacks destroyed about 10 million to 15 million books.
