Norway allocates $54 million to support Ukraine's energy sector. A memorandum on strengthening the energy partnership with Norway has been signed, announced Energy Minister Denis Shmichel. "During a meeting with Norway's Minister of Energy, Terje Åsland, we discussed the key areas of cooperation described in the document: restoration and development of production capacity, mainly in hydropower; development of distributed energy production and storage systems; improvement of the reliability of electricity supply, as well as the robustness and flexibility of the energy system; cooperation in the field of gas. Special attention is paid to attracting investments for the rehabilitation, development and modernization of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The memorandum also provides for the exchange of expertise and support in the preparation of energy projects. For Ukraine, this means wider opportunities to restore and modernize energy facilities, implement modern technologies, attract investments and strengthen the resilience of the energy system. Together with my colleagues, we also coordinated the assistance that Ukraine needs, including equipment, reserves and fundraising for the energy support fund."
