Serhii joined Oknergo in September 2022. And within a few months, his substation suffered the first rocket attack. Before that he worked as an electrician in a factory for 16 years. Working with high voltage substation equipment was very different from previous experience. However, senior colleagues were happy to share their knowledge. "I worked and studied at the same time, I passed exams. There were no problems in training. Already after the first attack, repairs had to begin. During four years our substation was attacked more than ten times. Missiles, drones, even projectiles from rocket launchers - the enemy uses a wide arsenal of weapons. There are many wounded, we have a hundred, a million of our passive wounded behind us, and we have one hundred percent of our passive defense. Systems - anti-UAV nets and concrete structures - are of tangible help. One of them faced a direct hit by the rocket, thanks to which the valuable equipment remained undamaged," says Selhi. During the four years of the war, our colleague became a professional repairman of high voltage equipment. And literally - Jack for everything. Serhii mastered a welding machine, created a small workshop in a tractor trailer. Amit explains his current "multi-professionalism" simply: "Everyone now works part-time." So in order not to wait for the welder, if necessary, I do this work myself, I even got a certificate for it. And he became a tractor driver. This significantly speeds up the repair work. We have almost zero employee turnover. Everyone understands how important the work we do and how many people depend on us, so the team is strong, we support each other." For his conscientious and highly professional work, Mr. Serhiy was recently awarded the thanks of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. Congratulations to a colleague with a well-deserved award! We are proud of the fact that we work together in a large team of NEC "Okarnergo".
