The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sibiga, referred to the introduction by the President of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada of a draft law on Ukraine's accession to the extended partial agreement on the Steering Committee of the Special Court. "Ukraine is taking another important step towards ensuring accountability for the crime of aggression. The President of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding Ukraine's accession to the expanded partial agreement on the Steering Committee of the Special Court - the third legal component of its institutional basis. We count on the rapid completion of the domestic procedures necessary for Ukraine's accession, and we call on the international partners to urgently complete the relevant procedures on their part so that the Special Tribunal can begin its work in 2027. Those who made the decision to start Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine and continue to lead its conduct must bear responsibility. The promise of the start of the work of the special court in 2027 will bring that moment closer."
