Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrey Sibiga: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is strengthening foreign diplomatic institutions with 46 additional posts to improve consular services. Most of them are aimed at strengthening consular work in order to increase the availability and quality of services for Ukrainians abroad. "Millions of Ukrainians are abroad today. Accordingly, there is a growing need for consular services at affordable and high-quality prices, as well as timely help and support for our citizens," the minister noted. Andrey Sibiga emphasized that the distribution of additional human resources will be carried out taking into account the number of Ukrainians in the respective countries, the strength of citizens' requests and the actual burden on the diplomatic institutions. "Each new position should yield a tangible result for the citizens," the head of the department emphasized. The minister also announced that after completing all the required procedures, tenders will be published to fill the relevant positions. Information on the conditions of participation, the requirements for candidates and the procedure for holding competitions will be published in the official information resources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Andrey Sibiga separately drew attention to the complaints and inquiries of Ukrainians regarding difficulties in making appointments and accessing consular services. "Since 2022, the number of Ukrainians abroad has increased sharply, while the staffing capacity of the consular service has not increased at the same rate. The decision on 46 additional positions is, mainly, our response to the criticism and requests of citizens," the minister noted. Andrey Sibiga emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is making every effort to simplify the procedure for receiving consular services and increase their availability. He emphasized that the state's attitude towards its citizens should be based on respect, regardless of where they live.
