Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian Policy and Information, MP Mykyta Poturaev chaired the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. For the first time in the history of the assembly, it was chaired by a representative of Ukraine. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sibiga, congratulated Mikita Futoriev on his election to the position, noting that this is an event of special importance. "Ukraine defends the very principles on which the OSCE was founded: sovereignty, territorial integrity, freedom and human dignity. These principles continue to be the cornerstone of European security. I am convinced that under Nikita Futoriev's leadership, the Assembly will continue to resolutely defend these principles, strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation and contribute to the implementation of political commitments into concrete and effective measures," said Andrey Sibiga. The head of foreign affairs also expressed his gratitude to the previous head of the OSCE authority, Fr. Juan Pons, for his dedicated leadership and constant support for Ukraine throughout his term as president of the assembly.
