Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga responded to the statements of Ushakov, Putin's aide. "As long as Russia believes it can achieve its invasion goals — goals it cannot achieve on the battlefield — by pressuring Ukraine to surrender, it will not be ready for serious negotiations. Therefore maintaining and increasing pressure on Russia remains critical to ending this war. Peace through force is the only strategy that works. But this force must be directed against the aggressor, not against the defending state. This war cannot be ended by stopping the Ukrainian resistance. This can only be completed by stopping the attacker's attacks."
