Senator Blumenthal will submit a bill to Congress to restore aid to Ukraine and strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation.
Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said that after the elections in the USA there is a strong pro-Ukrainian sentiment.
"We must immediately demand that Trump reinstate the suspended sanctions against Russia, end his abominable diesel deal, provide military aid, including air defense, and take further steps to demonstrate the support necessary to force Putin to the negotiating table for real peace," the senator said.
"I will introduce the bill to take advantage of this moment - a critical turning point, when convincing electoral victories should convince Putin that America supports Ukraine," Blumenthal said.
In addition, he emphasized that the United States should involve other negotiators in negotiations with Russia.
"US President Donald Trump needs new negotiators - not submissive horses calling this brutal killer a 'humanitarian,'" Blumenthal added.
