The President of the State: "I intend to impose the mandate to form a government this coming Sunday."

He further added: "The situation is such that the representatives of the factions numbering 67 Knesset members recommended the chairman of the 'Yisher!' party - Gadi Eisenkot, and the representatives of the factions numbering 46 members of the Knesset recommended the Prime Minister and the chairman of the 'Likud' party Benjamin Netanyahu."

The round of consultations with all factions of the Knesset at the President's House has ended.

The results of the consultations - seemingly clear, but the authority granted to me by law is to find out what the ability to form a government is - and this is not entirely clear in light of mutual disqualifications between the blocs and within the blocs themselves. I will try to find out this ability directly and quickly with some of the party leaders, in personal conversations.

In these talks - I intend to turn over every stone, to try to reach out to build a stable and good government for the people of Israel.'
