The Shin Bet, the police and the IDF arrested a soldier who was carrying out missions and acting for an Iranian entity; The military prosecutor filed an indictment against him.

In a joint activity of the General Security Service, the BLP Ayalon (Israeli Police) investigation unit, the IDF, and the IDF, an IDF soldier was arrested last September. The military attorney's office filed an indictment against him today (Thursday) for the offenses of passing on information to the enemy with the intention of harming the security of the state, passing on information for the benefit of the enemy and contact with a foreign agent.

The soldier was arrested on suspicion of committing serious security offenses, which include contact with Iranian intelligence agents and carrying out tasks under their direction.

The soldier's investigation revealed that he had been in contact with Iranian officials for about a year, during which he provided sensitive information about his unit's military activities, readiness data and jumps in the IDF in general, including details of his personal jump at the outbreak of the "Roar of the Lion" war.

The investigation also revealed that the soldier acted out of awareness of the identity of his Iranian operator. In return for his activity, he received a sum of money that was transferred to him through cryptographic wallets, in accordance with the instructions of his operator. As part of the connection, the soldier gave his operator information about military bases and their landmarks, as well as photographed interceptors, military vehicles and American refueling planes parked at the airport in Israel.

It also emerged that the soldier acted in a serious manner and endangered his environment when he gave his operator details about his friends and commanders in the unit, knowing that the operator would seek to recruit them for an espionage operation.

Also, as part of the investigation, it emerged that the soldier transferred to his operator the Telegram group "Kel Karab", intended for Israelis who will be conscripted, to which his operator joined.

During the contact, the operator ordered the soldier to install malicious communication applications in order to conduct encrypted calls, and even offered him to purchase a "dumb" phone and a gun.

The investigation also revealed that the two agreed on using coding for the calls and building a cover story in case it was discovered by the security forces. Also, the soldier was offered to come to Iran for the sum of 200,000 dollars.

The soldier's detention was extended by the military court, at this point until November 12, 2026.

The General Security Service, the Israel Police and the IDF emphasize that this is a very serious case of damage to the state's security. We call on the public to exercise maximum vigilance. Any suspicious contact from an unidentified party, a request for information or an offer to pay for "services" - must be reported to the security authorities.

The security agencies will continue to work to thwart espionage and terrorist acts, and will work to exact justice with great severity against anyone who helps the enemy or harms the security of the state.
