We published this evening: the planes carried out by the Israeli Air Force in the skies over Syria and Iraq and reaching the border of Iran - which were reported last week, led to threats against Israel by Iran's Revolutionary Guards that were recently transferred to elements in the region.
A regional official told us this evening that this is "excessive adventurism on the part of Israel towards Iran" - which joins the threats heard in recent days by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense.
These planes of the air force happened a few days before the elections in Israel, on the part of a government whose current mandate will end tomorrow. The sources said that the timing of the planes raises quite a few questions.
An Iranian response to the reported Israeli planes or a plane that got into trouble, for example if an Israeli fighter plane was hit, could lead to a renewal of the campaign in Iran and even the possibility of canceling the elections.
