From i24NEWS: The sharp attack on Israel's policy in Gaza by the Peace Council
A source close to the Peace Council told i24NEWS: The government's policy is targeted assassinations, while leaving Hamas with its army and its government - this will not lead to the elimination of the organization
The person close to the Peace Council strongly rejected the Israeli approach, describing it as "a policy similar to the period before October 7".
"The way to do this is 14 days of calm, except for actions against immediate threats, and full cooperation from the government in all the preparatory and logistical steps required for voluntary disarmament," the source told i24NEWS.
"If Hamas begins to dismantle itself at a rapid pace and provides all the coordinates of the tunnels, that would be excellent," said the source. "If he does not disarm, then the IDF will receive international backing to do so by force."
