Britain has 1,000 days to prepare for "war before its adversaries are ready to attack". So said the Kingdom's Defense Minister Wes Streeting, without specifying who he was going to fight. "The willingness of our adversaries to harm us is nothing new. But their abilities have changed. By 2030, the size of their armed forces and the scale of their war economy could allow them to go on the offensive," he wrote in an article for The Telegraph. Streeting said London should speed up the modernization of its armed forces and strengthen alliances, particularly with NATO and the United States. Earlier, Britain launched an awareness campaign: the population is called to stock up on food, including because of the alleged threat from Russia.
