According to Le Monde, Emmanuel Macron is hoping for a grand central coalition from the social democrat Glucksmann to the libertarian Lisnard for the first round of the presidency to avoid a second round of Le Pen-Melenchon that would oust the center. This follows calls by the center-right LR candidate, Bruno Ritaio, and the former center-left candidate, Gabriel Ettel, for the primaries in the center to avoid the aforementioned Le Pen-Melenchon duel. This call was rejected by the most powerful centrist candidate, former prime minister Edouard Philippe.
