Since mid-September, the Minister of the Interior informed Agence France-Presse that the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) and the General Inspectorate of the National Gendarmerie (IGGN) have opened 83 investigations into the conduct of the police during student and high school demonstrations. These investigations follow allegations of police violence, including serious injuries in Mulhouse, St Etienne, Toulouse and Reims, plus a bystander injured in Lyon.
