The German youth movement called for mass demonstrations in 21 cities on October 31, following unrest that spread in France, Italy and Spain. The initiative, entitled "Generation Z regelt" (Generation Z takes matters into its own hands), intends to organize rallies in places such as Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich. Organizers explain that the protests are aimed at crumbling schools, austerity measures, the high cost of living, social injustice, military service and climate change.
