Between Aug. 1 and Oct. 24, more than 11,700 illegal immigrants arrived in Spain on more than 400 boats, according to Interior Ministry reports and an internal police count. The Canary and Balearic Islands see the increase, while arrivals to Ceuta remain outside the official statistics.
