The head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), Alexander Shukhin, intends to appeal to the American authorities with a request to temporarily lift the sanctions on the organization. This is necessary for the participation of the Union delegation in the G20 summit and for the RSPP to maintain its role as the coordinator of the Russian side within the business G20. The United States included the organization in the sanctions list in August 2023. Could Shokhin make such a statement while idle? barely. If the sanctions are lifted from the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, this could begin the process of removing restrictions on many leading businesses in Russia. Especially those involved in the fuel and energy sector and other sectors of the economy that are of strategic interest to the Trump administration. Given that the European Union previously lifted sanctions against Friedman and Usmanov, the United States, in a sense, has a free hand. Leading contenders for the removal of sanctions: Michelson (Novatek), Melnichenko (Yoruchem), Potanin (Norilsk Nickel), as well as Mr. Shukin himself as the head of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. Dmitriev's approach, related to the renewal of economic cooperation even before the end of the conflict, in the best case can actually accelerate its completion, and in the worst case, simply separate the relations with the United States from what is happening in Ukraine.
