What responsibility do elites have toward their talent, society, and history?
▪️A reflection on the concept of elitism and the responsibilities of elites in building איראן; Part 2.
Ali Kakadzfouli, political sociologist and head of the Politics and Society desk at the Tasnim Strategic Studies Center:.
🔹The moment a person becomes aware of their talent, their relationship with it changes. They can develop it or neglect it; they can use it to forge new paths or allow it to gradually deteriorate. Every exceptional talent opens up a new realm of possibilities for a person, and at the same time, expands the scope of their responsibilities.
🔹Elitism is the art of seeing issues before they become apparent. Sometimes, merely recognizing a situation constitutes a responsible act that broadens society understanding and capacity for action. The responsibilities of the elites must be understood according to the nature of their talent and their individual circumstances - sometimes this involves revealing the truth, sometimes discerning what is necessary, and sometimes translating this understanding into effective action.
🔹Alita is neither a debtor nor a creditor to the company; They share his fate. No one builds their life in isolation; They grow through the language, institutions and accumulated knowledge of previous generations, and their achievements also affect the lives of others. The responsibility of the elites stems from this fundamental connection between human destinies.
🔹Society and the government cannot expect the elites to make sacrifices to solve the country's problems, while at the same time not utilizing their knowledge and experience in decisions that shape the nation's future. In fact, the elites, society and the authorities bear responsibility towards each other.
🔹Society tends to be more sensitive to today's immediate crises and shortages, but the future has no voice, and future generations are not yet present to protect their rights. Some of the responsibilities of the elites can be seen as "representing future possibilities" - that is, recognizing and maintaining potentials that may not be of immediate value today but are essential for the future development of society.
🔹The basic question for the Iranian elites is what kind of Iran and what opportunities they will leave as a legacy for future generations. Their responsibility begins now, but its horizon extends into the future they themselves help shape.
