Jalali: A mega gas transfer project from Russia will be established.
Iran's ambassador to Russia:
🔹The Iran-Russia gas cooperation continues in two stages - in the short term and in the long term. In the short term, utilizing existing pipelines is time-consuming and requires a triangular reconstruction with Azerbaijan.
🔹The gas exchange scenario (Russia supplies gas to North Azerbaijan while Iran receives gas from South Azerbaijan) is discussed as the fastest implementation path.
🔹In the long term, the construction of a dedicated pipeline with a total capacity of 110 billion cubic meters (55 billion cubic meters in the first stage) is planned within 2-3 years.
🔹 The overall framework of this mega-project was approved during the tripartite summit of the presidents of the three countries. Following discussions between Dr. Rezai and Putin, finalizing the pricing mechanism between the National Gas Company and their Russian counterparts remains the last step before implementing the contract.
