Arakchi: Talks are underway with Qatari and Pakistani mediators.
Al Jazeera's interview with the Foreign Minister:
🔹Our Qatari friends were in Tehran, and this is a continuation of talks with Qatari and Pakistani mediators that are currently underway.
🔹The offer currently on the table is actually the same offer that Iran initially presented; This is known as Iran's 7-Day Plan.
🔹This plan describes Iran's conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. It states that if these conditions are met, the strait will be opened on the sixth day, and the Iranian-American talks will resume on the seventh day.
🔹One of the ideas proposed by our Qatari friends was to shorten this 7-day period to 5 days or even less.
🔹The conditions that the US must fulfill are nothing unusual; they are all described in Islamabad's memorandum of understanding. 🔹Of course, some new conditions have emerged; for example, Article 9 of the memorandum states that the US must not impose new sanctions or increase its military presence in the region.
