🔻 Has Iran's nuclear doctrine changed?

Kian Abdullahi, the editor-in-chief of the Tasnim news agency, in "Farkhitgan Gep".

🔻 Based on the statements of official and unofficial sources, it can be concluded that Iran's nuclear doctrine has changed. Our current nuclear posture is completely different from the situation before the 40-day war. There are logical and rational reasons for this change.

🔻 What I mean is not [building a bomb]. The issue of changing the doctrine itself is a gradual process. I believe that we have definitely crossed the initial stage of this spectrum, and it happened for various reasons:.

1️⃣ Before the 40 Day War, and even after the 12 Day War, the prevailing opinion among officials was that staying in the NPT remained the best option. Discussions of withdrawing from the NPT have been sporadic at best. But now, the issue of leaving the NPT is no longer peripheral; It is being discussed more seriously among sections of society, politicians and parliament.

2️⃣ Iran was ready, in exchange for concessions from the other side, to implement the additional protocol beyond the standard security checks.

3️⃣ Accepting tests, diluting nuclear materials and limiting or removing certain advanced centrifuges were all part of the confidence building efforts.

4️⃣ There was even a point of view that suggested that if the US lifted all sanctions, Iran would be willing to impose restrictions on its nuclear activities in return.

🔻 But now, the absence of nuclear negotiations has become one of the pillars of Iran's new position.
