AP:
🔹Riyad Karimli, the Saudi assistant foreign minister for public diplomacy, said that his country requested a meeting with the Houthis (Yemen) in Oman.
🔹 The Saudi official emphasized that the purpose of the request was to discuss de-escalation and stopping attacks against Saudi Arabia, but Sana'a rejected this.
🔹In the past, sources close to the Sana'a government reported that, in view of the World Energy Congress in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia requested regional and international mediation - including through China - and offered a ceasefire that would last only five days.
🔹These sources stated: However, the request was rejected by Sana'a, as it believes that any escalation must be conditional on Riyadh meeting Yemen's demands.
