Kalibaf praises the courageous stand of Majid Majidis at the Busan Festival The true Iranian artist is the voice of his people's ideals A message from the Speaker of the Parliament to the renowned Iranian filmmaker Mr. Majid Majidi:

Beyond the artistic achievements, what raised the significance of this event even more was your courageous, wise and nationally committed stance on the world stage. Reminding us of the admirable great Iranian nations and the historical fortitude in the face of oppressive pressures, as well as reflecting the suffering and strength of this country, it proved once again that the true Iranian artist is a mirror of truth and the voice of the ideals of his people. Giving this prestigious award to the brave and resilient Iranian people, while honoring the mothers and the memory of the martyrs, symbolizes the unbreakable link between noble art and sincere humanistic and patriotic values.
