Under the new housing plan, the Municipality of Tehran has selected 211 areas covering 629 dunams for urban renewal. This plan is carried out in accordance with the neighborhood model plan in cooperation with the citizens, the government and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development. The goal is to renovate dilapidated urban areas with a different approach, and turn them into exemplary communities. These communities will leverage advanced technologies, proper insulation, gray water recycling and energy optimization to reduce water and energy consumption by 30-40%. Through this plan, the municipality aims to improve the quality of life of the residents of the discounted areas and provide social housing by establishing additional units, utilizing municipal management resources, Section 5 commission authorities and banking incentives.
