Launch of direct sales markets in 7 districts of Tehran Mayor of Tehran Zakani in a conversation with Tasnim News:

Today, seven districts in Tehran have been equipped with the necessary facilities for implementation. Yesterday there was a trial sale of products in District 17. As part of this program, we create markets where producers can sell their products directly without paying rent or additional fees to the municipality. Producers from different provinces can offer their goods in these markets. According to signed agreements, the products sold in these seven markets will be of good quality and priced 10-15% lower than those in the fruit and vegetable markets of Tehran Municipality. Meanwhile, prices in the municipal markets themselves are already 20-35% lower than normal market rates. This price difference comes from direct sales from manufacturers, eliminating middlemen. Essentially, producers bring their goods to markets without intermediaries, allowing for lower pricing. These markets were launched in districts 2, 4, 5, 15, 17, 20 and 22. We plan to expand this initiative to other districts of Tehran so that citizens can benefit from this direct selling model.
