The Arab Member of Parliament in the Israeli Knesset, Ahmed Tibi, announced on Wednesday the willingness of the Joint List, which he heads, to cooperate with the Change Bloc in order to exclude the government of Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister Itamar Ben Gabir.
Tibi said in a statement that the massive vote of the Arab citizens constitutes a "historic achievement" for the joint list, which he said proved to be a decisive force, and that change cannot be achieved without it, adding that the path to change will begin with the overthrow of Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana.
During the gathering of his supporters in the town of Tayba, Tibi said that the attempts to cancel the joint list and block the vote do not prevent the voters from making their voices heard, and emphasized that "the criminal Ben Gabir will not be the minister of police."
The initial results, after counting 85% of the votes, showed that the Netanyahu camp won 53 mandates, compared to 48 for the Change bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot and 19 mandates for the Arab lists. The voting percentage was 77.7%, while it reached 80% in the Arab society, according to the election committee, which is supposed to publish the final results on November 4.
