On Friday, a group of about 20 Israeli tourists were accused of shoplifting on Gili Meno Island in Indonesia, after surveillance cameras, according to the Israeli website Atha, showed one of the members of the group stealing goods, while the suspected tourist denies the accusations. Tourists from the group reported that law enforcement officers and shopkeepers arrived at the hotel where they were staying and searched their bags, amid fears that they would be arrested, while the group's shopkeepers were accused of stealing rings, perfumes and swimwear. The tourists added that the group paid $3,000 to shop owners to settle the dispute and avoid escalating the situation, before leaving Gili Meno Island on a ferry to Bali on Saturday night, and then returning to Israel the next day.
