The Amaury Sport organization, which organizes the Dakar Rally, announced today, Sunday, the transfer of the 2027 edition from Saudi Arabia to another region, due to the latest security developments in the region, without revealing the new location, which should be announced in the coming days.
The organization stated that the decision was made in agreement with the Saudi Motor Sports Company, and includes the edition that was supposed to be held in the Kingdom between January 1 and 15, 2027, emphasizing that the decision is exceptional and one-time.
The decision comes amid unrest that has affected other sporting events in Saudi Arabia, including golf, tennis and cycling tournaments, in addition to the exclusion of the Saudi Tour from the World Rally Championship schedule.
