The British Green Party voted on Sunday to classify Zionism as a "form of racism", a decision that drew an angry reaction from Israel. The Israeli party described it as an "ethnic nationalist political project", and emphasized its call for the Labor government to end all arms trade deals with Israel.

In response to the decision, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced on Sunday that the leader of the British Green Party, Zach Polanski, has been banned from entering Israel. The Israeli Foreign Ministry stated that the decision was made in coordination with the relevant parties, and harshly attacked the party, considering that it had become an "entity that legitimizes terrorism."

The Green Party, which received 6% of the vote in the 2024 UK general election, said its decision confirmed its support for the "right to self-determination", and called for the establishment of "one democratic state across historic Palestine".
