A paid advertisement published by the American newspaper "Los Angeles Times", funded by the Israeli government, provoked criticism online after it presented a map of Israel that did not show the state of Palestine or the occupied Palestinian territories.
The announcement presented a map where Israel stretches from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River without borders, in the absence of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the other occupied Palestinian territories.
The Drop Site News website reported that the "Los Angeles Times", a widely circulated newspaper in the United States, previously published ads promoting tourism in the Golan Heights, a Syrian territory occupied by Israel since 1967.
