On Wednesday, Turkish kickboxer Yagit Shishman dedicated the World Youth Championship title to the children of Palestine and the Palestinian people, after winning the gold medal after defeating his Israeli opponent 3-0 in the final match in Italy.

Shishman won first place in the 57 kg weight category during the tournament hosted by Italy between September 18 and 27, and achieved the first world title in his sports career.

Shishman said in statements to Anadolu that facing an Israeli competitor in the final increased the pressure on him, in addition to his journey to crown the world champion, and added: "Praise be to God, I showed the Turkish power and won 3-0." He continued: "I dedicate the world championship title to the children of Palestine and the Palestinian people, and send my blessings to the Palestinian brothers."
