The Directorate of Defense Industries of the Turkish Presidency has launched the national artificial intelligence platform "EVREN", with the aim of strengthening Turkey's technological independence and data sovereignty.

The Defense Industry Presidency said in a statement on Sunday that AFRN brings together data, artificial intelligence models and high-performance computing capabilities within a single platform, targeting a broad segment of users, including defense and technology companies, academics, entrepreneurs and students.

The platform processes command and response data using a high-performance GPU infrastructure located in Turkey, preventing the transfer of sensitive data to cloud computing services outside the country.

Efran can be accessed through its website, using identity verification through the Turkish e-Government portal. The platform provides access to 11 large open-weighted language models, and also provides the ability to train models in an integrated way from start to finish in computer vision applications, such as object recognition and image segmentation and classification.
